What does your body do when it thinks danger might be near?

Comment below.

Does your heart race?

Do your shoulders tighten?

Do you scan the room without realizing it?

Do you find yourself sitting with your back against the wall, watching the exits, startling easily at unexpected sounds, or feeling tense when someone walks up behind you?

Sometimes our bodies continue preparing for danger long after the danger is gone. What once protected you can become your body's default way of moving through the world. Learning to notice these signals with curiosity instead of self-criticism is often the first step toward helping your nervous system discover that the present is different from the past.
